Lol so i just go scrub without knowing who is my surgeon...

Then a MO walk in.... so i asked..."so who is the surgeon doing this case?"

me: *still no idea who is that* oh okay then

Preparing my stuff...

So my O&G fren walk in... and i ask her

me: Hey who is this Prof *** is he nice?
Fren: OH! he ah! He is the 最不好的!.... oh i mean... He is very fierce
me: *froze* -.-" errr okay.... 惨了啦!
Fren: Usually his case junior don scrub...
Me: =.=" errrs okay
Fren: aiya don worry... he sometimes good mood he is okay, somemore Spinal don think he will scold
Me: *turn around, patient under GA already* -.-"" oh... errr okaaaayyyy..... its GA

*so me and my fren stare at each other...

Lucky things went smoothly and he didnt scold me, lol

And he asked me "are u on call yesterday?"

BUt he didnt say why he asked...

Anyway after the surgery...he said " very good! thank you very much!"

I can finally hear myself breathing behing my face shield and N95 heees

First day back to work

Happy to see all my colleagues today, happy to be part of the team =)

Some ppl are deployed to the triage to help... some to KRW...

Anyway... first day back to work...

Heres my routine today:

0800hrs

- Wear the stupid N95 mask....
- Check through list of the day, check patient
- Called my surgeon, Called my anaesthetist to review patient
- Case cancelled.... patient bad flu...
- Called surgeon, called ward, called recovery... inform inform inform
- Go for mask fitting...so many ppl... walk back again
- End up at Emergency theatre to help....
- Circulate...
- Call surgeon
-Answer surgeon's endless phone call
- Answer theatre...yet again... endless phone call
- Surgeon stupid phone ring again... this time two phone together...
- Arrange next case
- Sent patient out...
- Prepare instruments for next case
- Wear the stupid PPE, running around....
- Wear the stupid PPE again... this time N95 not enough must add face shield... send patient to ICU
- Get theatre ready for next E-case.... prepare to scrub....
- Scrub for tracheostomy
- Wear gown, Stupid N95+ faceshield....
- Almost suffocated in the double mask and under Hot OT light... cant imagine if i were to wear an II gown...
- Case finish, wash instruments... next case is sent again
- Circulate....
- Instruments not in place... run..Run... RUN!
- Answered alot of stupid phonecalls again and took alot of notes...
- Patient BP plunge!!!
- Put on PPE sent pt to ICU again...
- Circulate for next case again....
1800 hrs... end duty....

Of cos this is only a summarised version...

I officially hate the combination of N95 mask and fluid shield.... i ve to breathe thru my mouth... hard like a gold fish...nausea also...

And we all look like ninja turtle.... hahaha

Thank god AD pager nv sound today..... fast paced today... but fun!

Its good to be back at work again... in a way....

I read thru the "test paper" 4 times today "submitted" by a fren

I read it thru thoroughly...

The questions set by the "examiner" are very straight forward ...

But the answers given are tricky...with alot of twist and turn...

However i manage to understand them...

Even though it was just a innocent test paper....

But the answer are clearer than water.

I'll tease her green nalgene waterbottle, crap abt leopard print bra stap etc. But the joke i'll always remeber is the one concerning that BIG guy who likes her. ahem. Abt their kids name if they get married. One dozen, two dozen...Can remember? ---> haha leopard bra strap? from a girl that seats in front of me during sec sch... so mean but funny... can u recognise urself too?

Accompany my friend(annonymous) for a singing contest yesterday

Its kinda enjoyable though, seeing how other competitor sings and stuff plus those comments given by judges =)

I can say he/she actually did pretty well as compared to past sessions =)

Oh ya...met another two huayian who knows who i am but i dono who are they.... short term memory 不好意思!

Have been waiting for my bags from taiwan to arrive.... sending out nurmerous emails in chinese to them...

Its extremely tedious i can say... for someone who have not written a proper paragraph in chinese since secondary school... typing out han yu ping yin word by word, deleting and editing my email over and over again so that it doesnt sounds like some retard typing chinese....

I can say now because of that i am in love to typing in chinese... =X

Finally my appointment letter from NUH arrive... gg to C clinic on 30th apr.... hope i dont get scolding for not gg to physio...

HOnestly i believe that my knee problem will not be improved by gg physio but... i seriously hope i wont be schedule for any arthroscopy....

I definitely do not wish to be wheeled into OT as a patient...

Bah...scary!

On leave for one week alrdy.... time really pass when you are enjoying yourself. Am trying to meet up as many ppl as possible this time round, so still queing la the list =p

Hmm this week... i ve spent time with my mum, visit my little niece victoria, meet up with jing chyehock alvin.

and i am going away today.... for one day... shall not mention where.

so i have one more week left... and i still have not meet cedric minglee and dionne. haha this time its not me who is the one who need one week advance appointment =P

so i meet up yest with Mr potato(cannot anyhow write name now hahaha) ...gave him that name yest since he is a "kan dan"...oh yes and half a woman living in him haha.

The best part abt coffee session with him is that.... you dont even have to open your mouth and he knows what kinda things i m gonna bring up.... as though its written all over my face.

And so we talk about pushing line and drawing lines....art lessons.... abt cheena and potatos...hahaha

Haha anyway mr potato.... i want to eat your risotto soon lar... don even know how to spell it.

ONe year ago...

Seeing the final batch of ngee ann students in OT bidding farewell to me reminds me of myself one year ago during my PRCP days...

Just that my time was way pathetic..... i was the only NP student going to OT during the last two weeks of attachment... that kind of culture shock was beyond description...

But still... i know i will love that kinda life... i just tell myself to give it a shot... no.. i don wanna go back to paeds again...

Now... 1 year later... i look at my juniors...saying goodbye to me, telling me that they are going back to school tml....

That strucks me...tml? how come it sounds so familiar... it seems like i just went back to school yesterday, handing over my PDAs, filling up survey forms.... meeting up with friends whom i have not met since our last tutorials... excitements were filling the entire lecture hall....

That doesnt sounds too far away...

And now the second batch of Ngee Ann nurses are graduating soon...

Starting out as a fresh grad is hard... those tough times... struggles... adapting to surrounding... it wasnt easy at all....

Honestly... now that i have settled... i really love my job now... as a OT nurse... all the excitements and adrenaline rush everyday is a common routine for me...

Once my senior told me.... Love your job and you wont have to work every single day.

Thats so true.
